Who Brother's Place is for, who it is not for, and the questions we hear most.

Is Brother's Place a Fit?

The short version: we serve adult men who are ready to engage with structure, sobriety, and a Christ-centered community. The longer version is below. If you are not sure where you land, call us at 706.509.9020 and we will talk it through honestly with you.

Who We Serve

Four basics that describe the men who do well at Brother's Place.

Adult Men 18 and Older

Brother's Place is a men's program. We do not serve women or families on site, but we will help you find someone who can.

Open to Recovery and Christian Community

You do not have to be a Christian. You do need to be open to praying, studying scripture, and worshiping alongside the brothers in this house.

Able to Engage in Programming

Recovery classes, case management, Bible study, and group sessions are core to life here. You need to be able to participate.

Committed to Daily Routine

Mornings, meals, work, devotion, evening check-in. Healing happens in rhythms. The men who thrive here lean into structure.

Who This Is Not For

We say this with care, not judgment. Brother's Place is not the right place for every man, and trying to fit a square peg into a round hole helps no one.

Brother's Place is a second-step program. We serve men who have already completed detox and are ready for long-term, sober, Christ-centered supportive housing — typically a 6-month to 2-year stay focused on reintegration: work, community, and faith. We are not a hospital. We cannot serve men in active medical or psychiatric crisis, men who need detox, or men whose stability requires clinical supervision we are not equipped to provide. We are also not a fit for men who are unwilling to engage with structure or who are looking for a hotel with no participation. If that is where you are right now, we will gladly refer you to other Floyd County resources who can help in those seasons. Please call us, we will not leave you stranded.

Frequently Asked Questions

Tap any question to read the answer.

How long is the program?

The typical length of stay is 6 to 12 months, depending on your needs and progress. We build a personalized plan with each resident and we do not rush the work of recovery.

Is there a cost?

Residents are expected to contribute toward the cost of their stay. That contribution is part of the program — it builds the habits of responsibility and self-sufficiency that carry men into independent life. The specific amount is determined based on your situation and discussed during the application process. Call 706.509.9020 to get started.

Do I have to be a Christian?

No. We welcome men of any faith background or no faith background. Brother's Place is a Christ-centered home, which means faith in Jesus is woven into daily life here. You do need to be open to being part of that community, but faith is invited, never required as a condition of staying.

What if I am not in active recovery yet?

Completion of detox or rehab is preferred but not always required. If you are not yet sober, we will talk honestly about where you are. Sometimes the right next step is detox first, and we will help you find it.

Can I work while there?

Yes. Once you have completed your initial stabilization period and your recovery routine is solid, we encourage employment. Our reintegration program helps connect residents with local employers who want to give a brother a real chance.

Are visitors allowed?

Yes. Healthy relationships matter, and we encourage them. Visitation guidelines are shared during intake. We also walk alongside families who are learning how to relate to a loved one in recovery.

What about my belongings?

Bring personal identification, medications with prescriptions, about a week of clothing, and basic hygiene items. We provide bedding, towels, meals, and most of what you need for daily life. If you arrive with very little, that is okay, we have you covered.

What happens after the program?

Most men leave with steady employment, a sober support network, a personal recovery plan, and housing arranged. Many stay connected as alumni, mentors, and lifelong friends of the house. Discharge is not goodbye.

Is medication-assisted treatment OK?

We work with men on prescribed medication-assisted treatment on a case-by-case basis. Please be upfront on your application so we can have an honest conversation about whether our home is the right setting for your specific plan.

How do I apply?

Fill out the apply form or call 706.509.9020. We respond to every inquiry, usually within 48 hours.
