Spiritual Formation

Bible study, prayer, worship, and one-on-one discipleship as part of daily life at Brother's Place.

The Engine of Restoration

Recovery at Brother's Place is built on a simple conviction. A man does not just need new behaviors. He needs a new heart. Sobriety, employment, housing, and healthcare matter, and we work hard on every one of them. But none of those things hold without a deeper change. That deeper change is what spiritual formation is for.

Every resident is welcomed into a daily rhythm of devotion, a weekly rhythm of teaching and study, and a personal relationship with a mentor who has walked the road before him. Sunday mornings are spent worshiping at one of our partner churches, where the brothers are received as family.

We do not require a man to believe before he arrives. We do invite every man into the life of Christ, and we have seen what that life does. Restoration here is not a program output. It is a person, made new.

Three Pillars of Formation

Daily, weekly, and personal. Three rhythms that, together, reshape a man.

Daily Devotion

Morning scripture, prayer, and journaling at 6:30 AM. Every man starts the day in the Word before he starts it anywhere else.

Weekly Bible Study

Group study and Sunday sermon discussion led by pastors and lay leaders. Honest questions, real conversation, scripture front and center.

One-on-One Mentoring

A weekly meeting with a mature believer from one of our partner churches. Accountability, encouragement, prayer, and brotherhood.

"I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh."

Ezekiel 36:26

What a Week Looks Like Spiritually

Formation is built on rhythm. Here is the spiritual cadence a resident lives into every week at Brother's Place.

Sunday, Corporate Worship

Worship together at one of our partner churches in Rome. Brothers are received as family, not as a project.

Monday through Friday, 6:30 AM Devotion

Scripture reading, prayer, and journaling to start every weekday before any work or programming begins.

Monday, Bible Study

Weekly Bible study to open the week with purpose and grounding in the Word.

Wednesday, Small Group Study

Mid-week Bible study in the house. Honest discussion of the text and what it means for the life he is rebuilding.

Evening, Reflection

Daily evening check-in to name what God is doing and to set intentions for tomorrow.
